October 2014 Glamourdolleyes OTM…

My apologizes this is so late! This really hasn’t been my week. I’ll try to do better!

For those who don’t know OTM stands for Of The Month. It’s a subscription from http://www.glamourdolleyes.com/. You can sign up to get a limited edition shadow for that month. You can only sign up on the 8th of the month. It’s not a recurring subscription. If you want to get it more than just one month you have to purchase a subscription for how many months you want. And if they’re available. There’s only a limited number of subscriptions so you kinda gotta stalk the site the day of to make sure you get one. They tend to sell out fast. This year they’re trying to make every month an extra month, but no promises. Which means you’ll get, not only the shadow but an extra item whether it be makeup based or fashion based. This month was an extra month (^_^). Oh and they include candy in all of them pretty much hehe.

GDE Oct 2014 OTM

The swatches have no base or primer under them. I do that to give ya an idea on how pigmented a product is with out it. I know when I see swatches without primer it gives me an idea on how much I’ll have to work with it to give me the look I’m trying to achieve.

So onto what I got for this month (^_^)…

GDE Oct 2014 OTM Card

Everything came in this bright orange bag. I use these baggies to hold my samples in. I now have one for my oranges yay! lol

This is the shadow we got for the month. It’s called Mausoleum. It’s a nice dark gray with red and orange duo chrome along with blue and purple sparkle. It’s a very pretty color. I always love dark colors so I love this.

This month had a few extra’s in it…

First extra is from TheChequerdLily. Here is their site https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheChequeredLily?ref=search_shop_redirect.

We got a glitter from them in the name Wicked Jack. It’s a nice bright orange. This will go great with the other extra we got this month.

The other extra was designed by a youtuber Victoria Donelda https://www.youtube.com/user/victoriadonelda. This is a shadow called Bat Queen. It’s a beautiful orange with copper and red shimmer.

Then another surprise we got was 2 sample baggies from the Limited Edition Halloween collection. I got the colors…

Buried Alive. This makes an awesome liner! I wish this was a gel liner of theirs I’d use it everyday. So pretty!

GDE HC Buried Alive

The other color is…

Funeral Selfie. Very pretty light purpleish pink color. It makes me think of Orchids (^_^). I love it!

And as always here’s the candy I got for this month!

Bat Wings Wafers. Sadly I can’t have them. Oh well, the package says it was produced in a facility that processes wheat and egg products and I really don’t want to take a chance on getting sick. It’s a neat product wish I could have it.

Well, that’s it for this month! I’m very happy with everything. I can’t wait to see what we get next month!

One of them days…

Sorry my post for today won’t be up till late tonight. I usually like to post in the morning but it seems my day is getting away from me. Got to a slow start this morning then got an intense urge to make pumpkin pie lol. I went to take pictures of my October Otm from glamourdolleyes and of course my camera dies. So, I’m waiting here for it to charge. Them gonna take pics, edit and hopefully have the post up tonight. It’s just one of them days…

Julep October 2014…

Got my October Julep box. For those who don’t know Julep is a beauty subscription box. They say the first box is free but ya just gotta pay for shipping which is only $3.00. So that’s not that bad. But if you continue to get the box, I spend $21.89 per box. Though, they have added the option to completely customize your box. It’s costs $24.99 and I don’t mind not being able to completely customize what I get in my box. I just choose which style of box I want. I usually get the Bombshell box, mostly cause that one almost always has the colors I like. You also have the option to add stuff to your box for a cheaper price then on their store. Including polishes for $4.99. Let my know what you think and I’ll put a link at the end of the post if you’d like to try it out too…So here’s what I got for October…

October 2014 Julep

Of Course this month’s box is themed around Halloween. I added 2 polishes to this month’s box and some kitty nail decals. Sadly when I went to pick up my box from the post office it was opened. The tissue paper was ripped and everything was messed up. Along with my nail decals missing. I informed Julep about what happened and even sent them a picture of how my box looked. They emailed back and apologized they’re also going to replace the decals. Even though it’s not their fault. I told them I know they’re not at fault for this happening that I just wanted them to know that it happened and I hoped it didn’t happen to someone else. I’ve been getting mail through my P.O.Box for a good year and half. I’ve never had anything like this happened. I switched to a P.O.Box so this wouldn’t happen. very frustrating that it did. Anyways, I’m sorry for my mini rant… Again I know it’s not Julep’s fault and I really didn’t think they’d be able to replace the decals. But I’m happy they are. I can wear them for Halloween like I was planing (^_^).

Anyways….. On to the box!

October 2014 Julep Card

I got the Bombshell box as usual… Here’s what came in that box automatically…

This is Julep’s Night Shift Sleeping Mask. You’re supposed to put it on before you go to sleep and wash it off when you wake up. Though, when I wake up my face is usually squished into my pillows. So, I’m pretty sure it’ll get all over my pillows before I could wash it off lol. I would have to put a towel on my pillows before I used this. But I’ll give it a try. This retails for $34.00 for Non-Mavens and for Mavens it’s $27.20…

Julep Night Shift Sleeping Mask

The Polishes I got are Nancy. This color is a beautiful blueish silver with a sea-foam green tone to it.

Julep Nancy

And Margarita… This is a simple purple polish with a blue undertone to it.

Julep Margarita

Now for my add-ons I got…

Ledi… I’m a sucker for black. Though, this ones more of a charcoal black with silver glitter. I like it. Excited to wear it (^_^).

Julep Ledi

Also got Marla… Love reds! I don’t think a girl can have too many red polishes. They’re always a must in my book. This is more of a burgundy red. with pink sparkle to it from the looks of it.

Julep Marla

As I said in the beginning I did get kitty nail dacals but they were stolen while be shipped… So I don’t have a picture of them… I’ll add it to this post after I get them. (^_^)

and for adding 3 items to my box I got extra polishes. YAY! I got…

Karmen… Okay in the bottle it looks like a orange red polish but swatched it’s pink with orange sparkle lol. I was so surprised when I swatched it. Pretty color nontheless.

Julep Karmen

And also got Catrina… Beautiful bright sunshine yellow… I don’t have many yellow polishes so this was a nice surprise. I think I don’t have many cause I don’t wear bright colors that much. Though, it’s still a very pretty color.

Julep Catrina

So that’s what I got in my October Julep box. I’m very happy with everything I got. I’m irritated that someone snooped in my box and stole something out of it. I’m certain I’ll love the decals when I get them.

Please don’t let that discourage you from getting a box of your own. I’ve had problems with USPS for a long time now. Just never something like this. It’s usually my mail going to the wrong place and never getting it. So yeah, if you wish to sign up you can go here: https://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/507735/

My dark pinky tutorial…

I’m sorry this is late like my last one. My days are all messed up. *sigh* At least I’m posting it late instead of not at all. Right?

Anyways, I wanted to do a dark pinky look sense it is October. It’s breast cancer awareness month and I can’t help myself but make looks dark. I don’t like how bright looks look on me. Hopefully that made sense. So yeah, sense Halloween is also this month I used Glamourdolleyes previous Halloween shadows. So yeah, onto the picture tutorial…

I first started with Urban Decay primer potion then put Glamourdolleyes Candy Coma on my lid.

(BTW Cotton Candy is part of the permanent line so you can get this color still.)

GDE Cotton Candy with Glitter Fix

I used a shadow brush to pat this on so the sparkle wouldn’t go everywhere…

then I took the color Gruesome…

GDE Gruesome with Glitter Fix

I used this to blend it out with a fluffy blending brush.

As I said I can’t leave the look bright so I took Vampire Wedding.

GDE Vampire Wedding with Glitter Fix

And placed this in my outer V area blending it out a bit. I used a stiff small fluffy brush to do this. I didn’t apply too much pressure so I could let the brush do the work.

I didn’t like how the pink, Candy Coma, was looking so I dabbed on some Glitter Fix.

GDE Glitter Fix

Put this on my lid where the pink is, waited for it to get a bit tacky then I put more Candy Coma on top to give it more intensity. Using the same brush I first applied Candy Coma with.

After that I put some Wet N Wild Brulee on my browbone.

I used a blending brush to apply that so it would blend in with the red.

Though, I lost some of the intensity. So I grabbed the brush I applied Vampire Wedding with, not adding any product to it, I blended the red out again.

I for got to take a pic of this but I used Chella Ivory Lace Highlight on the inner corner

chella highlight

Over that I placed Ruby June to brighten it up. I used a small detail brush to apply this shadow.

GDE Ruby June with Glitter Fix

Then I used my Jessie’s Girl Liquid liner to line my lash line.

After doing both of those it looks like this…

After that I took a pencil brush and put Vampire Wedding along my lower lash line.

I forgot to take a pic of the pencil but you can use whatever black kohl pencil you have to line your waterline. I used Wet N Wild Fergie on Edge Long Wearing Eye Pencil in Midnight Girl.

And of course I used my favorite mascara Too Faced Better Than Sex.

And I only did one coat of that.

That’s the eye look. I didn’t do any foundation or anything. I just wanted to do an eye look. I’m not going anywhere or anything so I didn’t feel like getting dolled up lol.

So yeah, the shadows I used are no longer available. But you can use what ever colors you like. If you want to stick strictly with pinks you can. Just use different shades of pink for get this look.

Oh and Glitter Fix will be available for purchase on the 15th of this month.

If you liked this look let me know. I have a couple idea’s for a couple other looks but let my know if you want me do to a certain look and I’ll try to do it for ya. (^_^)
